Dwaraka – The Gateway
Dwaraka (Sanskrit: “a gate or a gateway”) in the state of Gujarat, India, is often identified with the ancient kingdom of Krishna and is believed to have been the first capital of Gujarat. The major tourist attraction is the famous Dwarkadhish temple, the ‘Lord of Dwarka’. The Dwarkadish Temple was built around 200 BCE and was enlarged in the 17th century. It is one of the four most important holy places of the Hindus and attracts tourists from all over the world. Lord Krishna also established his capital here after he left Mathura.
